Mission
Develop through research, extensión and formation of human resources the scienific and technical basis in the field of pastures, forages and other crops for animal production, that allowed to obtain efficient, competitive and economic technologies and of favourable environmental impact.
Vision
Produce Technologies of excellence in sustainable and environmentally friendly production systems in pastures, forages and other crops of interest that may be introduced in the social practice through technological innovation and training to attain a close link between researchers and farmers. Work in the elaboration of national and international projects that permit self-financing and acquisition of modern technology thereby attributing the obtainment of new results and research products. Guarantee the continuous training of human resources and the application of a system of quality management. Strengthen the strategic link with other institutions and organizations to increase the development of pastures and forages both in Cuba and in other tropical countries.
